St. Michael Cancer Center

The new 60,000-SF St. Michael Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer diagnostics, treatment, and care in a three-story centralized building connected to the larger Acute Care facility. The Cancer Center is an innovative facility designed to make the patient experience as serene as possible. Rigby oversaw the artwork acquisition and placement for public areas, examination rooms, and private spaces and hallways. With entrances next to the Healing Garden, the Cancer Center has sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and surrounding topography. As with the Medical Center, Rigby’s focus was to highlight the expansive nature and environment of the Pacific Northwest, providing opportunities for a visitor to have a moment of respite while viewing the artwork.
